Lonely Planet

This is a crossover project by the illustrator Yuying and the photographer Yinlin.

People often feel empty and disordered in the material modern world. They are tied by reality, like Sisyphus, moving onwards with their heads buried in seeds having no direction. Most of artists today feel lonely. They are alone in their thinking and creation. What remains after is not being understood. This resembles Narcissus obsessing with and drowning in himself, constantly seeking inward and reaching outward. In this process, they try to establish a relationship between themselves and others. The artists not only dance with the shackles of loneliness but also perceive the continuity and advancement of their internal time in their own world while ignoring the external time and environment. On the lonely planet, the artists' self-indulgence and disregard for a time combined with the spectators’ gaze turn the originally lonely individuals into a lonely whole who always tries to break the boundaries.
